The ADAM 8H is a three-way active studio monitor with a Multi-layer Mineral fibre cone, high precision X-ART tweeter with rotatable HPS waveguide and onboard DSP-based tuning options.
The Adam 8H is a powerful evolution of ADAM’s original best-selling A8 and A8x studio monitors with significant upgrades including the new MLM woofer, HPS waveguide, hybrid amplification and DSP-based tuning.
A key element to the success of the Adam A8X was the X-ART tweeter and its precise transient response and sonically detailed reproduction. The A8H keeps the X-ART tweeter but has greatly improved its implementation thanks to its new high-frequency propagation system (HPS) to deliver a controlled dispersion of sound free from unwanted resonance thanks to its new glass fibre polymer compound. The tweeter can now be rotated by 90 degrees allowing for both vertical or horizontal positioning of the speakers.
The woofer uses a new multi-layer mineral woofer made of a blend of mineral stone fibres baked together to create a highly stable yet light material unique to each model.
The Woofer is augmented by a powerful new magnet system capable of delivering high output with low distortion ensuring a clean low-end.
The Midrange driver uses a new driver adapter from the S Series that delivers a clean, detailed sound free from distortion in the critical midrange area. The mid driver also allows the woofer and tweeter to operate a higher capacity.
The ADAM A8 uses hybrid amplification with a powerful Class D amp for the woofer and a Class AB amplifier for the tweeter. The woofer amplification ensures a linear performance with low distortion and has been carefully selected for its power and efficiency. The tweeter’s Class AB amplification delivers smooth and natural high-frequency reproduction.
Both amplifiers are finely tuned to offer optimum performance in their working range and precisely aligned to deliver the most accurate sound.
The A8 also includes DSP to provide greater tuning precision as well as alternative voicings including four bands for room adaptation equalisation (Bass, Desk, Presence, Treble) ensuring optimum tuning to match your room. The A8 alternative voicing includes a choice of four settings including the Ext option that allows the ADAM A Control software to tune your speaker with its 6-band EQ.
The A Control further supports filters from Sonarworks that allow you to import calibration measurements.
