The Akai Professional Force is a game changing standalone music production station that blends Akai’s MPC prowess with a familiar clip launching workflow, giving producers, DJ’s and electronic musicians and brand new way to perform and create their music.
Force is the first instrument from AKAI to blend together a full standalone production suite derived from the acclaimed MPC 2.0 release, but optimised both physically and in software for clip launching.
Force’s user interface is built around a super smooth and responsive multi-touch touch screen, 64 RGB backlit pads and 8 OLED labelled fully assignable rotary encoders, giving you constant visual feedback on your parameters, playback position, effects setting and more.
With two preamps, four outputs, full MIDI I/O and configurable CV and Gate outputs, force is designed to be the centre piece of your hardware studio, allowing you to easily record, sample, sequence, apply effects and trigger your recorded audio and stems from once central unit.
To allow for easy remixing and improvisational capabilities, Akai have included their highly revered MPC sample editing engine with a brand new BPM detection and time stretching algorithm , to let you drop in breaks, samples and other content into any tempo project.
Each track on the Force as be an Audio track, MIDI track, CV track, drum track, plug in track or keygroup across an 8x8 grid, meaning you can build complex patterns and sequences and trigger them with a single button press.
If you’re at all familiar with Ableton Live, then you should be right at home with the Force. Sure it’s not LIVE in a box, but it’s as close as we’re ever going to get.
