The Akai MPC One is a compact, powerful standalone music production system that allows you to create full songs and productions using Akai's refined suite of sampling, sequencing and audio manipulation tools.
The ripples from the splash of the Akai MPC series can be felt all throughout modern music production, from hip hop, to techno to well...literally everything. Early pioneers of the machines like DJ Shadow used the MPC to create stunningly intricate pieces of music using nothing but samples and their crate digging prowess, elevating the concepts of sampled based music production to incredible new heights.
Throughout the years, the MPC series has undergone a few substantial revisions, and it wasn't up until recently that Akai would consider making a standalone unit again. The MPC Live and MPC X were the first in a new line of standalone devices that would let you create music free from a computer environment (if you so wish!), they added new features like a touchscreen for easy editing and note input, plus a wealth of added features like onboard instruments, advanced sampling editing and masses of storage and content on-board.
The latest incarnation of the MPC series is the ONE. A small format, affordable groovebox that encompasses the workflow and touchscreen UI from the Touch, Live and X but puts into a squarer, more familiar form factor, this new MPC retains the simple, super fast and intuitive workflow of it's predecessors, plus all the added mod cons like expandable storage, CV and Gate connectivity and much much more.
MPC One includes the powerful multi-core processor from the MPC X and Live, a gorgeous 7" multi-touch gestural touchscreen, with 16 MPC signature RGB backlit pads, four Q link controllers with 4 switchable banks, a full size SD card slot for expansion, plus a wealth of MIDI connectivity for you controllers, keyboards and much more.
