AnaMod AM670

The AnaMod AM670 Stereo Limiter is a 3U rack-mounted stereo replica of a Fairchild limiter.

Designed to emulate the classic Fairchild 670 valve compressor, the AnaMod AM670 Stereo Limiter is a faithful solid state replica, offering you the same dynamic control that made the original one of the most sought-after units in recording history. Using the AnaMod process for modelling the sound has allowed the AM670 to give you all that compression and control, but in a convenient 3U rack-mount fitting.

Capable of operating in stereo or as two mono units, the AM670 Limiter from AnaMod can also offer you sum-and-difference stereo, M/S, using the same Lateral/Vertical controls as its predecessor. This gives you the opportunity to vary the AM670 compression in the centre of the mix - without affecting the sides or the other way around, if you prefer. The Time Constant controls offer exactly the same switchable attack/release presets as on the Fairchild, too.

The AnaMod AM670 is a great way for you to experience what made the 670 the sound of the Sixties, with this classic recreation of a bygone vintage.

AnaMod AM670 Stereo Limiter Overview:

• Input Impedance: 20KΩ, balanced
• Output Impedance: less than 50Ω
• Max. Output Level: +27dBu, balanced
• Input Gain: -15 to +15 dB
• Frequency Response: +/- 1 dB from 40Hz to 15kHz
• Noise Level: better than 73dB below +4dBu, 0-30kHz
• Limiting Noises: same level as a vintage 660 with GE five star 6386 tubes and properly balanced
• Total Harmonic Distortion: level- and compression-dependent
• Compression Ratio: Variable from 1: 1 to 20:1, level-dependent

Short Description The Fairchild 670 limiter is arguably one of the most famous and sought-after stereo compressors ever made. The magical way it adds density and dimension to a track or a mix has been demonstrated on many of the best-sounding records made in the last 50 years. For buss compression, the 670 Limiter is the standard by which all others are judged.
