Bock Audio 407 Large Diaphragm Condenser Microphone, Front

Bock Audio 407 is a cardioid only, tube microphone with a k47 type capsule. It borrows the power supply and amplifier from the 507 microphones, seamlessly recreating the performance of the original 50’s German tube U47 microphone.

The Bock Audio 407 gives you the range of sounds and tonal features for half the price of vintage microphones, using replacement parts and “new-old-stock” tubes that are now readily available to them. The 407 attains characteristics you’ll find in the 47 whilst giving you the reliability you need for todays requirements.

With legendary artists Led Zeppelin and Frank Sinatra all incorporating the U47 within their recordings in order to create a “big vocal” sound, which in turn became the signature sound of the 1950’s, the 407 now looks to takes on a similar role using a close signature proximity effect. Other instruments such as a Cello and Violin can be used alongside the 407 to achieve intimacy within your recordings while an acoustic or electric bass will provide you with a perfectly warm tone without the end result sounding muffled. The 407 allows you the flexibility to record drums with no overt artificial high end found with most drum mics and deliver detail and warmth for solo performers who sing whilst playing guitar when using the 407 on its own. A custom power supply and cable comes included along with a shock mount and wooden microphone box.
