Avid

Avid

Pro Tools began life all the way back in 1991, having evolved from a very simple software audio editor called Sound Tools. The advent of Pro Tools was one of the most radical and important changes in the audio world, allowing audio to be recorded and manipulated on a computer! Radical stuff twenty odd years ago!

Back then it was under the control of Digidesign, whom Avid (the audio/visual giant) purchased in 1995. Since 2010 the name Digidesign was phased out, with Avid becoming the brand name on all Pro Tools systems

Avid Pro Tools now comes in various guises. Pro Tools Express and the MBox interfaces for home use, Pro Tools as Native software for all sorts of uses and their flagship professional HD|Native and HDX systems. They also supply a range of control solutions, including the once Euphonix Artist Mix, Control and Transport, and their professional D-Command, D-Control and new S6 systems.

KMR are proud to be appointed Avid Elite Partners and are able to supply the whole range of Avid Pro Tools products. We have demo facilities in all our locations and our staffs are highly trained in the installation, use and support of all systems.

If you run a commercial studio, it is difficult to avoid the ubiquity of Pro Tools - but with so many options and variations now available, it is now open to all sorts of budgets and requirements. KMR can help you circumnavigate the Pro Tools quagmire!
