FMR Audio products are proudly designed and assembled in Texas, USA. Its no frills ‘Really Nice’ range of 1/3 rack-sized products include the RNC1773 Really Nice Compressor, which was the company’s first product when introduced nearly 20 years ago as a compact and cost-effective stereo compressor with a high-fidelity audio path and compression scheme. It achieves its notable performance at a low cost by replacing expensive discrete sidechain components with a microprocessor, although admittedly it still processes the main audio in the analogue domain to avoid any digital audio conversion problems.
Want to mount a ‘Really Nice’ processor in a standard 19-inch rack? No problem. A custom-made rack tray is specifically designed to hold up to three such products within 1U of rack space. Nestling an RNLA7239 Really Nice Levelling Amplifier and RNP8380 Really Nice Preamp up to a RNC1773 Really Nice Compressor makes for a really nice combination!
More recently, two of those popular processors have been redesigned to fit into the increasingly popular API 500 Series format — namely, the RNC500 Really Nice Compressor and RNLA500 Really Nice Levelling Amp, both of which are stereo-linkable for stereo operation. Nicely done, guys!
