The DPA 2006A Twin Diaphragm Omni Microphone is part of the Reference Standard Series and is built around the acclaimed DPA 4006 omni microphone, due to its sound character and industrial design. The 2006A is great for miking and recording orchestra, acoustic piano, guitar, wind instruments, vocals and choirs.
The 2006A from DPA features a Twin Diaphragm Capsule technology. This makes the 2006A well balanced for acoustic authenticity and true character. The capsules are loaded to the supreme Reference Standard preamps instead of the tiny miniature FET preamp from the miniature mics, offering, even more, air and precision.
In a 2006 capsule two opposite-facing miniature capsules are custom re-built into a double diaphragm, one-capsule composition. This combines the advantages of small capsules (fast impulse response and large frequency bandwidth) with lower inherent noise achieved from a larger diaphragm area.
