The DPA d:vote CORE 4009 Trumpet Microphone is the culmination of years in research and development designed to capture trumpets and other brass instruments on stage and in the studio. First, it boasts a highly directional supercardioid capsule designed to reject unwanted spill even when monitoring and other instruments are close to the source. Combined with the microphone design, it also ensures very low self-noise and high gain before feedback.

Another improvement is the use of CORE amplifier technology which helps in the capture of a natural trumpet sound on and off axis avoiding unnatural harsh frequencies.

The CORE 4099 Trumpet mic comes with a clamp-based mounting system that securely attaches the gooseneck microphone to the rim of the trumpet or brass instrument. It is coated with a special rubber compound that prevents surface damage. It also ships with a DAD4099 XLR adapter which requires phantom power but it can also be employed with wireless microphone systems with the correct DPA adaptor.
