The Dynaudio Lyd-8 is an active studio monitor with handcrafted 8” drivers, state of the art Class D amplification and next-generation DSP.

The Dynaudio Lyd-8 builds on the heritage of the BM series but is completely refreshed to offer powerful performance while still excelling at low mix volumes. The new Class-D amplifier provides a total of 130 Watts (80W LF/ 50W HF) with a high-quality 24bit/96kHz signal path and DSP to extend or curtail low frequency response by 10Hz if required, as well as controlling both Position and Sound Balance for optimum performance in your mixing or listening environment.

Besides, the Lyd-8 uses Dynaudio’s famous handcrafted soft-dome silk tweeter with an aluminium voice coil designed to reproduce high frequencies naturally and in an uncoloured manner with no shrill resonance.  This allows for long sessions to happen without inducing ear fatigue.

Low frequency are taken care by a handcrafted 8” flat cone design woofer made of Magnesium Silicate Polymer providing the ultimate balance between stiffness, weight and dampening. These are combined with improved thermal behaviour of the aluminium and Die Cast basket ensuring reduced thermal distortion. Aluminium is used in place of copper to improve off axis frequency response and transient response.

On the back of the unit are three DSP controls, with a Bass Extension Control letting you choose between high SPL or improved LF performance without compromising the frequency response’s linearity.  Other Controls include the Position control which lets you correct the bass bump that happens when positioning monitors too close to the walls and the Sound Balance which uses the principle of tilt filters to tune your speakers to your room.
