The Helios F760 is an exact reissue of the legendary 70’s FET compressor and limiter loved by countless engineers throughout the world.
The Helios F760 follows the exact same specs as the original units from the 70’s. Ratios range from 1:1, 2:1, 3:1, 5:1, 10:1 and 20:1 delivering subtle control to fierce limiting.
Using a FET topology for its compression, the Helios F760 is capable of extremely fast time constants and as such features attack time starting at -0.25ms and going up to 0.5ms, 1ms, 2.5ms, 10ms and 25ms, while the release also offers ultra-fast response from -0.025s, -0.5s, 0.5s, 0.1s, 0.2s, 0.4s to the slower 0.8s, 1.6s and 3.2s. The Helios F760 also features a program dependent Auto release which provides a flexible response suited for most applications. The Helios F760 features additional controls such as an input level knob and a three-way output level switch, and a built-in peak limter with LED indicator.
Extremely popular on drums for its ability to impart a big, powerful and aggressive sound, the Helios F760 compressor is nonetheless very flexible and works great on acoustic guitar and vocals. The Helios F760 is stereo ready with a side-chain input and a stereo switch allowing for two units to work together.
One difference with the original units is the re-calibrated VU meter giving a more precise gain-reduction reading.
