The Manley Absolute Headphone Amplifier is a stunning valve-powered headphone and line level amplifier with switching topology, 6AQ5 vacuum tube, IRON transformer and high-voltage power-supply with super-low impedance DC rails.
The Manley Absolute headphone amp boasts two stereo RCA inputs, one pair of RCA outputs all made in-house with gold-plated, Teflon insulated connectors, one 4-pin XLR for balanced headphones and a TRS headphone output jacks. The Volume is controlled via a thumb wheel at the front or RF remote and provides 0.5dB increments via precision stepped relays.
The Absolute Headphone amplifier also includes tonal controls including Baxandall Bass and Treble equalisers and a Balance control which can tilt the signal up to 72dB either way. When set in the central position, the Balance control is completely removed from the circuit, while the Baxandall EQ can be bypassed at the push of a button. Furthermore, A Global Negative Feedback control provides additional sonic character control by reinjecting a portion of the output back into the input.
This stunning headphone amp also includes a custom hand-wound air-gapped dual-mode Manley IRON output transformer. The output Valve stage can easily be switched between all-triode Push-Pull or Single-Ended topolgies, radically changing the harmonic structure from odd-order harmonics to even-order harmonics. Doing so will halve the power available at the output. The transformer offers a choice of three output loads to accommodate different heapdhones between 12 and 600 Ohms or more.
The amplifier is powered by Manley’s own High Voltage switched mode power supply with low-impedance DC rails which ensures super quiet operation, fast and dynamic sound and improved headroom.
