The MFB Tanzbar Analogue Drum Machine takes its cues from vintage “TR” drum machines of the 1980’s, featuring a familiar per step sequencing interface, 16 analogue instruments and a wide range of editing capabilities, the Tanzbar might look fairly unintimidating but its sound is massive and reminiscent of more expensive lusted over drum machines.
The 16 analogue voices make up a classic drum kit plus voices dedicated to melody and bassline duties; Bass Drum 1, Bass Drum 2, Snare, rimshot, Cymbal, Open Hi Hat, Closed Hi Hat, Claves, Stereo Claps, Low, Mid and High Toms, Cowbell, Maracas, dedicated bass synth and a dedicated voice for melody, each with a varying degree of tonal and tuning control.
The sound of each voice and instrument is generated using pure analogue synthesis, all of which is sequenced by a TR style step and note input interface. A total of 144 patterns can be stored each with an A/B variation.
Tanzbar is designed to fit into any existing studio or live setup; clocking options include MIDI and Sync Pulse and each voice even has a dedicated audio output allowing for the upmost versatility when it comes to processing the sound.
The main features of the MFB Tanzbar Analogue Drum Machine include
Real analogue drum machine with familiar TR sound and sequencing
Dedicated voices for Bass and melody duties
Three CV and two gate inputs
Individual or global swing quantization
12 separate outputs for each synth voice
