Jarrad Rogers uses Barefoot MM27s to produce Pixie Lott...

KMR Audio recently supplied a pair of Barefoot MicroMain27™ monitors to busy producer Jarrad ‘Jaz’ Rogers for his South London Studio where he is currently working with rising star Pixie Lott on her album – Bright Lights (Good Life) Part II for Mercury.

Designed by Thomas Barefoot to eliminate the need for multiple monitors, the innovative MicroMain27‚Ñ¢ monitors feature dual 10" subwoofers. The two subs are housed in compact sealed enclosures to yield highly stable low frequency control and outstanding impulse response. Locking the sub motor structures together allows opposing forces to cancel each other out, keeping the cabinet rock steady even at very high output levels. Such a capable, integrated subwoofer design relieves the mid-bass drivers of their low frequency duties, which in turn dramatically cleans up the upper bass and midrange. Barefoot Sound is at the forefront of multipurpose monitoring solutions. Their designs use only the finest components, and are built to the highest specifications.

Jarrad commented:  “They are very very good. When I first heard the Barefoots they didn’t seem to make my music sound amazing, in fact it sounded flatter. But then I realised I could hear stuff which I hadn’t heard before. I could hear below 50Hz, clearly and all the way down and I wasn’t trying to compensate by adding stuff. It was sounding fuller which I think is key for a producer. I can work with them running really quietly and I get the same response as when they running at full bore, and I mean really full bore. They don’t change the whole time, clear and in your face. Well done Thomas!!”

Jarrad’s productions include Tinchy Stryder featuring Pixie Lott – Bright Lights (current single - Island). The Saturdays – Do What You Want With Me (Polydor), Tinchy Stryder – Feels Like I Could Fly (Island), RoxXxane – This ‘n’ That (Polydor) and Dionne Bromfield featuring Tinchy Stryder – Spinnin’ for 2012 (Island - Olympic theme - forthcoming single). As well as tracks for up and coming Mercury priority artist for in 2012; Seye – Simple Sum Of All My Simple Parts, he’s now starting to produce the entire album for Aiden Grimshaw – the X Factor rebel - for RCA next year. This is their ‘dark horse’ from the X Factor last year, and the one they think is going to deliver the album that people remember next year. Jarrad is also going to be producing Devlin (Ghost Ship and If Only) for Island in the next month or so. He’s a very busy producer!

Adds Rogers: “They give me a lot of peace of mind because now I know that if my mix sounds right on the Barefoots, I know it’s going to sound great on any speakers which means I can take the tracks to an A&R meeting with every confidence. Within a few days I was thinking ‘I can’t function without these in future! I can’t live without my Barefoots!.
