The Neve 1073 DPX is a dual-channel 1073 mic pre with EQ and follows the success of the 1073 N which allowed using the 1073 modules as stand-alone rather than having to buy dedicated Neve power supply. Just like the 1073 N the dual channel mic preamp uses surface mount device technology which brings the price down without sacrificing quality.
All the usual features are present on the 1073 DPX from the Neve Marinair input and output transformers which are built to original specs, GrayHill switches and pots as well as the white push buttons. The Mic preamp includes a combo XLR / Jack for Mic and Line inputs as well as a separate Hi-Z input to plug an instrument. The 3-band EQ is completely identical to the EQ found on the 1073 modules or 1073EQ LB.
An interesting feature is the inclusion of insert loop points which make it possible to use the 1073 DPX as an insert with in your DAW-based setup ideal for mixing. A switch lets you move the insert point pre- or post-eq depending on your requirements. A monitoring section includes a 7 LED graph and headphone amp which allows you to monitor channel 1, channel 2 or channel 1+2.
Finally a digital option card will be available for it, offering high-quality analogue-to-digital and digital-to-analogue conversion.
The Neve 1073 DPX is scheduled to ship end of March or early April.
