Slate Media Technology have announced that production of its highly popular Raven MTi2 is on hold until further notice due to a supplier of a key component being greatly affected by an earthquake in Taiwan. As a result, Slate have been forced to stop production temporarily until the factory is back up and running.
However, Slate Media Technology has decided to relaunch production of the Original MTi unit which and will retail at £1299 Inc.VAT, albeit in limited quantities. While the hardware is slightly different, the software remains exactly the same and as a result will offer very similar performance. Unfortunately, users looking for a dual setup solution cannot combine MTi-1 and MTi-2 units.
Slate Media Technology have stressed that they are not discontinuing the MTi-2 and are fully committed to starting production as soon as possible and are looking at alternative solutions to the manufacturing process.
Other products in the range like the Raven MTX and Z3 units as well as the Virtual Microphone System hardware are not affected and the first VMS units are scheduled to land in the UK in approximately two weeks.
If you are a Raven MTi-2 customer and are waiting for your unit, or if you were looking to purchase an MTi-2, please do not hesitate to contact us on 020 8445 2446 or at sales[at]kmraudio.com to discuss the different options available to you.
