The PMC twotwo Sub 1 is an active subwoofer to complement pmc twotwo active studio monitors in a 2.1 configuration or as a LFE channel in a surround monitoring system.
The PMC twotwo Sub 1 uses an ultra-low distortion Class-D amplifier with DSP filtering and bass management functions. Connections include balanced stereo analogue and AES3 digital inputs and outputs to connect to satellite speakers.
Input source, analogue input sensitivity, gain trim, overall volume, low-pass filter slope and frequency as well as phase can all be adjusted easily. In addition the active subwoofer also features a single parametric equalizer to help with room alignment, and both analogue and digital outputs can be high-pass filtered to feed the satellites.
Like all speakers in the twotwo range, the Sub 1 uses PMC’s Advanced Transmission Line (ATL) bass loading principle, as well as a cutting-edge Class-D amplification and highly sophisticated DSP controls. The PMC twotwo Sub 1 to remove unwanted low-midrange frequencies within cabinet and minimising harmonic distortion to negligible levels.
The long-throw bass drivers have been created by PMC to deliver unmatched transient response and uses natural materials, with super-light and rigid doped-paper cone. The cabinet dimension makes the twotwo Sub1 easier to place in a room.
