The Rupert Neve Designs RNDI-8 is a single rack space unit with eight independent RNDI Active Transformer Direct Interface channels. It allows direct injection of instrument-level sources like electric guitars, basses, keyboards, synthesizers, and piezo pickups.

The Rupert Neve Designs RNDI-8's discrete, class-A circuit topology is built around Mr Rupert Neve's custom transformers, resulting in exceptional sonic performance and a natural sound from 5Hz to beyond 90kHz. Each channel can handle input levels up to +21dBu (+31dBu with pad engaged), and the low-impedance transformer-coupled output drives long lines with minimal loss. Its rugged steel construction ensures a lifetime of use in stage and studio environments.

The RNDI-8's signature sound is due to the combination of its custom-designed transformers and class-A discrete FET input amplifiers. The eight custom-wound output transformers provide isolation while adding musical harmonics and dimension to the sound. The class-A discrete FET input amplifiers are powered by 48V phantom and create a high impedance input of over 2M Ohms, ensuring consistent performance with various instruments.

The RNDI-8 has a uniquely wide bandwidth with a frequency response from 5Hz to beyond 90kHz. The output transformer's harmonic enhancement delivers a thunderous low-end without compromising midrange richness or top-end sparkle. It can handle maximum input levels of +21dBu, making it suitable for instruments and professional line-level sources like interfaces and drum machines. With the addition of a -10dB pad, it can handle even the highest-output DJ mixers.

The RNDI-8 also includes two distinct ground lift options. It has a standard DI 'lifting' option via eight individual 'Pin 1 Isolate' switches on the rear panel, which usually eliminates common sources of hum in the signal path. Additionally, it has eight ground lift buttons on the front panel that separate each channel's circuit ground from the chassis ground, providing another helpful option to detect and eliminate unwanted ground hum.
