The Universal Audio Apollo X8 Heritage Edition delivers the stunning performance of the highly successful Apollo X8, from its stunning AD/DA conversion to its Hexa Core DSP processing for latency-free tracking through UAD plugins, Unison Preamp technology and full integration the latest LUNA Recording system.

The Heritage Edition comes with a suite of highly desirable plugin emulations including popular collections from Helios, Fairchild, Teletronix, Pultec and Universal Audio.

An Outstanding Thunderbolt Audio Interface

The Apollo X8 Heritage Edition features a total of 18x24 I/O including eight analogue inputs and 14 analogue outputs. Four Unison Mic Preamps are also included for recording through some of the best emulations available.

The Apollo X16 also boasts class-leading 24-bit/192kHz digital audio converters and pristine analogue circuitry to capture your recordings in all their glory.

Unison Mic Preamps

The Apollo X8 features four Unison mic preamps allowing engineers, producers and musicians record through accurate mic preamp emulations of Neve, API, Avalon, Helios, SSL or Universal Audio.

Unison technology not only recreates the sound of the preamp emulated but through the use of two-way communication, it is also able to recreate the input impedance, gain stage and component-level circuit behaviours for unparalleled realism.

Realtime UAD HEXA Core Processing

At the heart of the Apollo X8 lies UA's flagship Hexa Core processing based on six DSP chips. The Hexa Core system adds 50% more performance than earlier Apollo interfaces resulting in more plug-ins when tracking in real-time or when mixing.

Carefully placed after the converters, the Hexa Core processing lets users track with UAD plug-ins at near-zero latency. It opens up your recording system to some of the best hardware emulations from SSL, Manley, Avalon, Helios, API or Neve.

Mix in Surround and +24u Operation

The Apollo X range of audio interface now supports surround monitoring up to 7.1 making it a powerful option for users working with video games, television and web.

Selectable +24dBu operation also ensures perfect compatibility with professional mixing consoles and other high-end pro audio equipment.

Build a Scalable Recording System over Thunderbolt

Using the latest Thunderbolt 3 ports, the Apollo X8 Heritage Edition lets you daisy-chain several units together (up to 4 interfaces and 6 UAD units in total) to create systems with up to 64 analogue I/O.

Because Thunderbolt 3 is backwards compatible with Thunderbolt 1 and 2 it is possible to connect older Thunderbolt models via an adapter (sold separately).
