The Studio Electronics Boomstar range has become a firm favourite of synthesizer enthusiasts and musicians the world over, thanks to their premium build quality, sonic versatility and wide array of filter flavours available, each inspired by an iconic machine that’s been painstakingly reverse engineered.
Each Boomstar architecture is identical, they feature:
The 8106 as the name gently suggests is a Roland inspired 24dB low pass filter, inspired by the now unobtainable 80071 IC which found its way into the Jupiter 8 and the Juno 106, hence the name 8106.
For those who know, you’ll be aware of how ridiculously sweet and “liquid” the Juno / Jupiter era Roland machines sound, with deep, gripping resonance and an incredible snap when modulated with a quality envelope.
The 8106 is that classic Roland filter tone, minus the £20,000 entry fee for a Jupiter 8.
The main features of the Studio Electronics Boomstar 8106 include
Semi modular analogue synthesizer
Two wide range oscillators
A unique filter topology, inspired by an iconic machine
Exotic wooden side panels
