Telefunken M60 FET Matched Pair

Telefunken M60 FET Cardioid Stereo Pair.

The Telefunken M60 FET Cardioid Small Diaphragm Microphone is a transistor-based solid state condenser microphone designed for superior reproduction of transients and high SPL handling capabilities.

The Telefunken M60 FET Cardioid uses the TK6X cardioid capsule which is compatible with the ELA M 260 tube microphone. The 6micron gold-sputtered membrane has a diameter of 15mm capable of capturing a full low end as well as fast and accurate transient response. A flat frequency response between 150Hz all the way up to 7kHz is complemented by a smooth air presence peak at 8kHz making it ideal for drum percussive instruments such as drum overheads, hi hat and ride cymbals or  acoustic instruments like the piano and acoustic guitars.

The M60 FET Cardioid reinterprets the classic FET design and uses a proprietary circuit topology with carefully selected components plugged by hand on a gold-plated circuit board. As a result the M60 FET produces an ultra-clean sound typical of Class A discrete amplifiers and a frequency response of +/-2dB between 20Hz and 50kHz.

A custom American-made transformer is used to match the output and provide low self-noise and a THD+N of 0.015% or less making the M60 FET an ideal microphone for critical recording situations.

The M60 FET Cardioid excels at recording acoustic instruments and percussive instruments capturing all the nuances and subtleties of the instrument with precision and clarity, offering a very detailed image full of definition and natural presence.
