Highly accurate 2-way active studio monitor with a new 180mm (7”) crystal membrane woofer, 50kHz folded ribbon tweeter, Sealed Cabinet and dual 180W Class D amplification.

The Unity Audio Rock Mk-III is the third iteration of the highly accurate 2-way active studio monitor which brings a new 180mm (7”) crystal membrane woofer.

The Unity Audio Rock Mk-III boasts the same Baltic Birch sealed cabinet and Corian front baffle found in the previous version as well as the 50kHz JET 5 folded ribbon tweeter. It also includes the same discrete analogue SP64 input crossover found in all previous Rock models, offering the same sonic character that has made this speaker such a popular speaker for recording, mixing and mastering.

A brand new 180mm / 7” crystal membrane woofer is employed offering an attractive design as well as improved dynamics. It uses a crystal-shaped inverse aluminium dome bonded to a paper cone by a special glueing process that creates the required sandwich design. The aluminium foil helps stiffen the dome thus reduce resonance and unwanted colouration.

Manufactured in Europe, the 50kHz JET folded ribbon tweeter uses a special glueing process that helps reduce distortion. As a result, the Rock Mk-III has a super-fast response and dynamic range that delivers super tight transients, minimal distortion and superior stereo imaging.

Its sealed cabinet provides truly accurate bass with superior time domain performance with a gradual 12dB per octave roll-off. It is made of the 12mm, 9-ply Baltic Birch plywood augmented by a 12mm Corian front baffle that adds density, mass and rigidity and offers the ideal mounting platform for the drive units.

The Rock Mk-III employs two 180 Watt Class D amplifiers with DC protection. It also provides a switchable 115V-230V operation.
