Waves REDD Native plugin derives from Abbey Road’s custom built, vintage REDD console designed for the in-house Record Engineering Development Department. Renowned for its silky smooth EQ, warm characteristics and lush stereo imagery, Waves have recreated the vintage console into a plug-in producing richness, depth and dimension typically found in the REDD.17 console.
REDD Native has a variety of cool features in order to recreate the original characteristics of the REDD.17. A Bass lift controlling the 9dB low shelf to compensate for low frequency loss caused by condenser microphones used in a figure of 8 configurations. Classic EQ types featuring a shelf boost or cut at 10kHz and Pop EQ that has a peak boost centered around the 5kHz mark, with a shelf centered at 10kHz. Both EQ’s feature a continuous 10dB boost or cut at 100Hz. Other features include Tone High and Tone Low controls to shelf both high and low equalization, a monitor to control the source of the monitor output, a drive control to add distortion and analogue control to regulate the level of modeled noise and hum applied.
